Eat the moon
WELCOME TO A SPECIAL EDITION OF MY NEWSLETTER
I hope all of you had a great summer even with the limitations for travelling, vaccine schedules, masks and stuff… I think the more important thing is trying to reconnect with family and friends and spend some time with them. Some of us have been separated or with limited contact for a long time and if you had the chance to fix this, congrats! I am sure that you will appreciate those moments more than ever.
AND NOW THAT THING ABOUT SELLING YOU SOMETHING
I broke my rule (well, it wasn’t exactly a rule) about publishing Mondays, a decision I can´t remember why I took. The reason is a crowdfunding campaign I launch today using a platform called Spaceman project. I mentioned my "crowdfunding project" in previous editions and how I had to delay it until September so... Here is!
The graphic novel is titled MOON EATERS and is a black and white (with ziptone, I love ziptone) graphic novel full of action, crime, romance… and horror.
This is the story:
Tommy Blackfoot gets out of jail and the first thing he does is to get into his car and head to Elmore's Motel to meet up with June, a woman he met through a pen pal service between women and convicts. The solitary motel is located after a turn off a lonely highway and is pretty vacant except for this unlikely couple that isn't exactly there to waste their time.
However, a thug called Peter Twice has been following Tommy since he stepped out on the street, and has been in close contact with someone called Rouge, who has some unfinished business with the ex-convict. In case Rouge and his goons can't get there in time, Peter sneaks impatiently into the room where the couple sleeps but he is unfortunately discovered.
But it's too late. Although Peter's attack alerted them, a silent army commanded by Rouge has already raided the motel and blocked every exit. Rouge calls for revenge!
Trapped, the pair will have to fight to survive in a cat and mouse game where no one is who they claim to be. Not even sweet, innocent June is the damsel in distress she appears to be...
If you feel curiosity about the plot, let me tell you that the “sell-the-movie” concept (with TV show examples) is Banshee meets Supernatural and I think it’s a good definition. It's also all the things I (and surely you) love from John Carpenter’s movies. It's my personal tribute to movies like Assault of Precinct 13, Escape from New York or In the Mouth of Madness but all of them in the same book. And it's going to be a pretty damn well published book with quality paper and good size (17x29 cm or 6.7x11,4 inches).

The book is available in ENGLISH and SPANISH and it will be released next year. The good part of getting it using this platform is that you get an exclusive signed print and all the storyboard for free for a cover prize of 23€ ($27). You even have options with commissions and personalized covers but hurry up because they are limited.
And the most important thing IMHO: You are supporting a work where the creator have all control. I own all the rights, I take the decisions. You are supporting authors and the creation of new stories told by independent creators in the direct way. I will tell you more about this decision and why I am trying different ways to launch my books recently (like I did with my Paranoia Killer series for Panel Syndicate) in a new newsletter next week.
See you then!
